Summary
The beauty of Psyche was so great that it challenged the gods’ power; therefore, Aphrodite commanded her son Eros to punish Psyche. However, just as Eros was going to strike Psyche with one of his arrows, he learned that Psyche was actually a man. He was attracted to the beauty of Psyche and accidentally shot himself with one of his own arrows. Once this happened, he wondered if the power of the arrow would have any impact on him as well.
