no, if you remember couple chapters before this chapter the doctor gave matthew medicine because of his withdrawals from taking the 99% pure dream pills. there was a small scene where matthew’s hands are shaking because of it and shows the bottle. its the same color in the syringe as that medicine, they are both green, so it’s likely that… if it’s not, then it’s probably sedatives given by sungchi, but i don’t think so because sungchi said “do whatever you can to make him not leave.” there’s nowhere else matthew would’ve gotten drugs from, so it’s definitely not to harm him!!
