“Do you know what will happen if you hit the client like that?”

Mark scolded Josh like he was frustrated.

Josh just looked at Seth without saying a word. Isaac came out to defend him.

“C wasn’t fair, was he? Josh was hit, they were trading blows to each other.”

That was true. It was Josh who landed the first punch, but Chase wasn’t holding back. As evidence, Josh spat out a handful of blood-stained saliva.

Isaac muttered with a frown upon seeing it.

“I can’t believe you beat a man like that.”

Seth, who had been silent until then, muttered:

“Hey hey. Didn’t you see Josh trashing C?”

Mark noted:

“It was very good.”

Then he was silent, for a moment he couldn’t deny the feeling of satisfaction that surged inside him. Isaac also helped from the side.

“But he didn’t reject you, did he? That is what I saw. Imagine Josh was determined and had kicked him. How would C have ended?”

Suddenly, Josh remembered the words of the teacher who taught him taekwondo .

“It is good to have long legs, but it is too dangerous for the opponent”

When Henry heard the news later, he threw away his cheap luggage, ran up to him and said, without hesitation:

“Why didn’t you hit him on the Adam’s apple?”

“Do you really want him to kill me?” Josh said, stunned.

Henry rarely closed his mouth. Thanks to that, everyone could see his true intentions.

“I’m going to watch the CCTV. Everything is recorded, right? What time did it start?”

It’s the first time Henry was so excited since the day of the dogfight last summer that he later found out it was a scam and roamed Las Vegas for days to find the players.

Josh, turned and called Henry, found the popcorn and placed it in Henry’s hand.

“Three minutes in the microwave.”

“Oh thank you very much.”

Henry shook Josh’s hand with unusual emotion. With the light of confidence and expectations rising like stars in his eyes, Josh struggled to smile, feeling the pressure of the blows. Henry eagerly left his seat, saying:

“I’m going to have a coke.”

Isaac opened his mouth after Henry disappeared.

“Won’t you say you’re going to quit now?”

“I’ll be fine for now.”

Mark sighed like he was worried.

“Go rest today and let’s talk quietly tomorrow, either with C or Laura. I’m sure the problem is serious … about the contract, about future expenses,” he added, looking at Josh. “Hurry.”

Fortunately they all disappeared and went to their respective positions.

“Ah.”

When he washed and lay down, he later felt sore. Chase was no ordinary opponent. Fortunately for Josh, Chase hadn’t learned to swing his fists and attack. Josh groaned low as he felt fatigue and pain throughout his body.

Josh closed his eyes and thought. It will seriously hurt tomorrow, but let’s think about that when it’s time.

✤✤✤✤✤✤

“Oh, Josh. Did you sleep well? How are you?”

Josh was leaving the room at lunchtime when he bumped into Isaac, who just arrived. As soon as Josh nodded at the greeting he gave, he walked over and started walking side by side. Suddenly curious, Josh opened his mouth:

“How was C after the fight?”

Isaac replied casually:

“There was nothing special. I’m sure he’s still sleeping.”

“Really?”

When Josh wondered how hurt he was, Isaac spat:

“I thought it would be worse.”

Josh responded to the sincere comment:

“If it were, I would have already been under arrest.”

Isaac said nothing more.

Suddenly, he felt the vibration of the cell phone at his waist. He checked, it was Seth.

“What happens?”

As soon as he answered the phone, the other party said intermittently:

“C wants to see you.”

“Me?”

Josh thought, Don’t tell me we’re going to have another crazy fight.

Seth answered Josh in a cold voice:

“I don’t know, he just said come over.”

“Do you want me to go with you?” Asked Isaac, who was looking at him when he hung up.

Isaac watched him put the phone away. As he looked at his concerned face, Josh shook his head without realizing it.

“No. Thank you,” he said easily, and strode forward.

Henry’s words: ” Why didn’t you hit his Adam’s apple?” They were the first thing that came to mind, but he soon erased them.

Before he knew it, Josh made it to the front of Chase’s room, but couldn’t knock on the door right away. He took a deep breath and raised his hand to play. There was no response from within.

He was the one who asked me to come, so he must be waiting for me.

Josh made up his mind and opened the door. The room had already been cleaned. Of course, the owner of the room couldn’t have done it himself. It was clear that the service personnel had arrived. Unfortunately there were no works of art and decorations left that will fill the walls and empty spaces. The only things in the room now were Chase, the bed, and the portable chair. However, Josh felt that that was enough. Chase was the only one who caught his eye anyway. He sat on the bed waiting for Josh. In Josh’s eyes, it looked like he had pulled the finest clothes out of the closet, even though he was dressed in a pair of jeans and a rather old T-shirt. Of course, everyone would have thought so. Chase was perfect. Except for the black bruise around his eye.

Chase looked at Josh with a frown. Since he opened the door and appeared, Chase’s gaze hadn’t left him. The lingering gaze was burdensome but inevitable. Josh stopped on purpose, at a distance. Then he could open the door immediately and run away. If he hit Chase again, he’d be in trouble. Chase was silent for a long time. I just looked at him. Josh, who was waiting for him to open his mouth, finally spoke first.

“I heard you called me.”

“Why didn’t you leave?”

Josh blinked rapidly at the words he returned.

“Where did you come from?”

“From my room.”

Chase gritted his teeth.

“Damn son of a bitch. Shouldn’t you have come to me as soon as it was morning? What were you doing and what are you doing now?”

Josh couldn’t speak due to Chase’s unexpected response, after a few seconds he said:

“Did you wait for me? Why?”

“Don’t you see it?”

When Josh blinked and looked awkwardly at his face, Chase hit the bed with his fist only then Josh spoke:

“You won’t have to receive treatment.”

Only then did the broken lips and bruises from left to right appear in Josh’s view. However, he still hadn’t understood the situation and asked:

“… Do you want me to apply medicine to you?”

When he half asked, Chase’s face turned grim and he spoke:

“So we’ll call a lawyer? Do you want to fix it with money? Or do you want to get hit?”

Josh managed not to refute : You said I could hit you! He has this cheap and unpleasant temperament, but somehow he wants to screw him, he is like a child and at the same time so attractive to death.

Josh clenched and unclenched his fist, looked up at the ceiling, took a deep breath, and quickly scanned Chase’s entire body with a cold face. In fact, his body was bruised, nothing special, and it would disappear in time. Bloodstained lips and open wounds, large and small, were treated simply by applying disinfectant and applying bandages. Occasionally, when the chest was pressed into a wince, the ribs appeared to be bruised, but there was no broken bone. In fact, Josh didn’t hit that hard either. But he couldn’t leave when Chase finished speaking because this time the consequence could be worse.

Josh decided to give in to the situation and said:

“I’ll get the emergency kit.”

As Josh tried to turn around, he suddenly found a long cut on one of Chase’s arms. He seemed to have scratched himself on the corner of the broken furniture, it did not need stitches, but thought it would be better to bandage it. Josh immediately left the room to collect the first aid kit. After opening the bathroom cabinet, he suddenly wondered if he could postpone the situation, but the answer was obvious. No one would be willing to take over, to be left alone in the room with Chase Miller treating his injuries, instead of Josh. With a sigh, he checked the contents of the first aid kit and returned to the room.

Chase was sitting on the bed like before, as soon as Josh appeared, he looked at him with terrifying eyes. Josh quickly took the chair off to the side without saying anything and sat across from him to begin treatment. The first thing he did was treat the wound on his arm. It was a pretty deep wound, more than he thought, but it was unlikely that it would bleed any more. After applying disinfectant, he waited a while until it dried and applied ointment to avoid scarring. In the end, the bandage was wrapped and fixed, it was done.

Josh remained silent and placed a bandage on Chase’s head and immediately afterwards, his eyes met his. Josh stopped moving. Chase seemed to have been looking at Josh the whole time and Josh knew it, since he began to heal him his gaze was fixed on him, but he had only managed to ignore him. However, he only paused for a moment and created an awkward situation. He had to instinctively look away, but Josh couldn’t. He was mesmerized by Chase’s face.

Oh, I made a bruise on that face.

When he inwardly regretted it, Chase narrowed his eyes for a moment at the startled Josh, who quickly avoided his gaze. Chase’s face turned grim.

“What? You! How dare you ignore me.”

“No, it’s not that.”

“What the fuck is it?”

If he didn’t respond, his fist could fly into Josh’s face this time.

Josh hastily opened his mouth:

“I will exercise my right to remain silent, because I don’t want to be hit again.”

Chase was silent for a moment, after a few minutes he said something unexpected to Josh, who was nervous inside.

“I know you go crazy every time you look at my face.”

Josh momentarily didn’t understand the meaning of his words, but after a few seconds he was embarrassed and flushed.

“Oh, did you know?”

“Yes. Didn’t you want me to know that? Am I an asshole like you?” He said incessantly harsh words, though his expression was filled with vanity.

“I like Mr. Miller’s face,” Josh said, but immediately afterwards frowned. “Are you satisfied with that?”

“… What?”

It was Chase’s turn who didn’t immediately understand this time. He flicked his long golden lashes up and down and soon put on a fierce look.

“What are you talking about, you son of a bitch?”

Josh quickly took a step back after Chase’s harsh words. It seemed that at any moment Chase’s fist would fly straight into his face.

“I’m sure there isn’t a pervert in the world who likes your personality.”

“Pervert?”

Josh struggled with a cold sweat behind his back and said:

“Let’s say my taste is unique.”

He knew they weren’t the right words. The scent of the pheromones became strong because Chase was angry and opened his mouth:

“My personality is part of me, as my face is.”

“Oh, of course it’s part of you.”

Josh agreed with Chase for the first time, who glared at him as if he had something to say.

Josh continued speaking:

“But everyone grows old and beauty disappears,” he added to himself, as if he were speaking to himself. “Will there be someone who likes you when only your personality remains?”

There was a cold silence.

Josh was unsettled by Chase’s silence. It was amazing that no fists had flown yet. He applied the leftover medicine as quickly as he could, just in case he hit him. Finally, he put a bandage on the back of his hand and stood up quickly, forced to meet the gaze he was pulling away from.

“So…”

He was going to say, “I’m going out now,” but Chase cut him off.

“You’re also getting old.”

Chase brought the inevitable reality to the handsome young man before his eyes.

Josh supposed he was thinking about that the whole time, thinking about how to make him feel ashamed and disappointed. However, contrary to Chase’s expectations, Josh didn’t care much.

“Oh, of course. I really do not care.”

Josh didn’t regret his words, he even wished he had laughed at him. Chase became more irritated and gritted his teeth.

“Do you think people will still like you, even if you lose your face because you have a good personality?”

Josh swept his hair that had fallen off his face and he could see how Chase’s fierce gaze was still on him.

He smiled bitterly and inquired:

“Isn’t it more likely to happen compared to Mr. Miller?”

Chase was speechless for the first time. It was amazing that he couldn’t think of anything when he was so angry. Josh wanted to throw more words at him, but when he saw him he could see that he was defeated and walked towards the door, a few steps before arriving he turned and looked at him.

“Now that the treatment is over, I’m leaving,” Josh said quickly, intending to leave this time.

Even after he walked out the door, Chase couldn’t tell him the words he had planned: And is your personality good?

But Chase was sure Josh would say this : it’s better compared than yours, Mr. Miller . In the end, he hurled insults and hit the mattress several times.

One day I’ll kill that son of a bitch.

He gritted his teeth and frowned, then glanced at the door where Josh had disappeared minutes before.

Josh had already left, though he stood outside staring at the door for a long time.

✤✤✤✤✤✤

The day had passed and the sun began to set. Seth was staring at the monitor with a serious face and Josh walked into the monitor room.

“What happens?”

Josh tilted his head to look at the screen.

There was a car standing on the CCTV screen in front of the door. Seth opened his mouth:

“Go help him, looks like his battery must have run out.”

“Who?” He asked aloud when he saw a handsome man scratching his head after he opened the hood of his car.

“I heard he’s a client who came to see C, so check his identity. If you suspect anything unusual just fix his car and send him back.”

“Good.”

Josh went straight out of the mansion and got in the car, the trunk was always full of gear in case they needed to do any repairs en route.

Seth’s voice was as calm as ever. Therefore, there was not much of a threat. It was not unusual for enthusiastic fans to perform in front of the house. Josh drove through the garden without much thought.

Beyond the iron gate, a sleek black Jaguar was seen. A man who appeared to be the owner was leaning against the car door and calling on the phone. Josh stopped near the iron door and then got out. The man who sensed the presence turned his head. The man with dark glasses somehow felt familiar, although Josh had never seen him before. He is tall with shiny blonde hair and even a sleek appearance. The man noticed Josh’s presence immediately and opened his mouth, smiling slowly.

“Hey, I’ve never seen you before. Are you a new bodyguard?” He didn’t need an introduction, but he spoke. “Nice to meet you. I’m Chase’s brother, Grayson.”

He reached his hand through the iron bars of the door. Josh looked at him apprehensively and shook his hand awkwardly.

Feeling like a prisoner in jail has met an understanding bystander.

Grayson narrowed his eyes and whispered in a relaxed tone, “Please take care of yourself,” as a smile slowly spread across his face.
