In the VIP waiting room at Epilogue Airport, there was no one but a man and two children. The man, however, was standing and watching the planes coming down as if the whole side was sticking to the glass wall. Behind him, a boy and a girl ran wildly through the spacious waiting room.
“Pete, give me this! Because it’s mine!”
When a pretty big boy ran away, grabbing a ribbon with a hair ornament on his head, the girl screamed in resentment and ran away. Barely caught up with Pete, but the girl was still short of stature. The child shouted in anger when he couldn’t reach him even with his arms outstretched.
“Papa! Pete took my braids!”
“Pete, give it back.” said the man indifferently, still keeping his gaze outward. Cecil wheezed and turned around, reaching out.
“Have you heard? Come on, give it to me!”
“You idiot, you’re a man. What are you doing with this on your head? Are you a woman?”
“Give me this, because it’s different!”
“Cecil says she’s a girl, she says.”
“You ask for it!”
Eventually, Cecil cried. Then Chase, who turned his head, hurried up and hugged Cecil.
“Papa, Papa.”
“Yeah, yes, you’re good.” Chase looked down at Pete, patting Cecil’s back. Chase smiled and stroked his head at the appearance of Pete who quickly noticed the momentum of the previous moment disappearing.
“Pete, you can’t make fun of Cecil.”
“But Cecil is a boy.”
Pete protested.
“Men don’t do this. They don’t even wear pink dresses.”
Seeing Pete with his mouth open, Chase suddenly recalled his childhood.
“Dad has wear one too, Pete”
Pete stopped at these words. Chase was embarrassed, but he honestly confided that he would know it anyway.
“When I was bigger than Cecil… I wore it when I was about four years old, and I also filmed an advertisement.”
Pete just blinked his wide open eyes, as if speechless. Chase was worried that he might have hurt the child. Having lowered Cecil from his arms, he leaned down and made eye contact with Pete.
“Are you disappointed with Dad?”
Pete couldn’t answer. Chase became bitter when he saw his son with only his eyes rolling in embarrassment. Suddenly Pete opened his eyes wide and shook his head.
“No, not! Dad, I wasn’t disappointed. If you want to wear it. OK. You can wear Cecil too! So don’t cry. “
Crying was a misunderstanding, but Chase felt proud when he saw the child hang on his neck and healed himself.
“Yeah. Thank you, Pete. I won’t cry.”
“Yes.”
As he patted the child’s back, Pete nodded and lifted himself. Seeing his still anxious face, Chase smiled as if to be relieved. Then Pete’s expression was released, and he returned Cecil’s ribbon he was holding in his hand.
“Thanks.”
Cecil took it and handed it back to Chase.
“Before Daddy comes, tie it up pretty, Papa.”
“Okay.”
Chase skillfully crafted the ribbon. He held his waist and checked the mirror on the wall, and then Cecil smiled as if satisfied.
After putting the child down on the floor, he asked with a smile.
“Do you like women’s clothes, Cecil?”
“Huh?”
Cecil, who raised his head, uttered a short exclamation, and then thought about it for a moment.
“Not much!”
“But why do you always try to wear women’s clothes?”
Chase asked with pure curiosity. Cecil replied innocently.
“Daddy likes that when I wear women’s clothes, I’m pretty. Maybe it’s because I resemble Papa a lot, right? Daddy is very, very fond of Papa.”
